As part of your spring cleaning time, your window screens need attention, too. After all, they’re continuously exposed to the elements – bugs, pollen, wind, rain, snow, sun, heating and cooling… ugh!

window scerenFirst, carefully remove the screens from the windows. Next, lay them on a large drop cloth, or lean them standing against a surface or even on two 5 gallon paint buckets.

Get a large scrubbing brush, and using your garden hose and a bucket of three parts of warm water and one part of household ammonia or even vinegar. gently scrub in small circles. Rinse your brush often.

You may have to repeat this one more time. Then, give them a final light rinse.
